2006 - SUNDAY SCHOOL DEPARTMENT REPORT

Our Church is Blessed with a Sunday School Staff that is dedicated to teaching the Word of God to our students. We had two major changes to our department this year:

1. The Schedule Change for Sunday School to be 9:15am to 10:15am, giving us a FULL hour to teach the Word of God. We love it!! The time between Services and Sunday School was also a positive change!

2. This was the first year we did not have regular summer Sunday School. Terri Kirby did have a program "On a Roll for Jesus" for all Junior kids that attended each Sunday. They discussed disabilities and collected pennies that helped send wheelchairs to underdeveloped countries. The staff enjoyed a much-needed break during the hot summer months.

Our Primary department curriculum is "Our Life in Christ" by Concordia Publishing House. They have been using this for a couple of years. The students and teachers are enjoying the colorful Bible lessons and activities that this Christian based curriculum has to offer. The Junior department started using "Living the Good News" a Lectionary-Based program by The Morehouse Group this fall. The teachers have found this to be a good match for us since the students can connect the Sunday School lessons to the Gospel reading and Sermons each Sunday.

The Sunday School Department had a Valentine potluck in February; we had a great time playing B-I-N-G-0 to win prizes. The food was Great as usual!! We also hosted a fundraiser for one of our teachers. Holly Moore and her husband Greg in August with a luncheon and silent auction. This was a complete success and a wonderful way to help a teacher that has been such a Blessing to our Church.

This year's enrollment for 3 years old through 8 th grade was 77 active students with an average Sunday attendance of 44 children.

We want to say Thank-You to Sue Coffin for writing our Christmas Program "Miracles Really Do Happen". Also to Becky Broeker, Chris Briggs, Twiya Sellers, Holly Moore, Pam Cheek, Linda Meek, and all the others who worked so hard to make our Christmas program a success.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

Adult Sunday School Class: Sunday morning at 9 AM in the overflow room to study God's Word and its application for their lives.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS - Jack Spitz

On an average Sunday you would have found about 10 individuals gathered at 9 a.m. in the overflow room to study God's Word and its application for their lives. Each quarter we were directed in our study to various portions of the Bible. Through study and discussion we searched for a better understanding of the historical message and its practical application in our day by day living. We have materials and room for more participants who might choose to join us on either a regular or occasional basis.
