Discipline

• The ALC Preschool strives to provide an environment where each child can grow and learn.  If a child is being disruptive to the other students by words or actions we will talk with that child and help them to make better choices.  If the child continues to be disruptive a time out will be given which will consist of leaving the activity they are engaging in to sit out for a period of one minute per the child's age.  We will then talk with the child about making better choices.  If a child displays disruptive behavior on a continual basis we will meet with parents and develop a plan for success along with a reasonable time line.  If after the time period the child is still not succeeding we will discuss the need for alternate placement. We firmly believe that with good classroom management, fun, engaging activities and patient, understanding staff most discipline issues can be avoided or rectified.
